Children's Musical Theater - Auditions

This year they will be performing "Rock Bottom"- A musical written by Craig Hawes.  The AHS Drama Department will audition, cast, rehearse, and perform this original musical with approximately 60 students: 1st - 12th grade.  Auditions will be held on Monday July 16th @ 9:00 a.m., in the AHS auditorium.  Students need to be available every day (July 16th-21st) from 9-11:00 a.m. and 12-2:00 p.m. to practice.  There will be a $15.00  per student registration fee, (Those with multiple family members pay $10 per student) to help supplement the cost of production. Free performances will be held on Saturday, July 21st at 11:30 and 1:30 in the AHS auditorium.  Pre-register your child for auditions at mmcclure@dcsd.org or jloertscher@dcsd.org.  Please include your child's name, grade and contact number.  All proceeds go to the AHS Drama Department


Family Activities and Movie Night


Bring your family down to the Altamont park between 6-8:30 p.m. for a night of fun!  Enjoy a great evening in the park with Vendor Booths, Animal CHases, Bounce Houses, Dunk Booth, Barrel Train Ride, Face Painting, Volleyball, Corn Hole, and much more. There will be food and Fun for every age! Bring your camp chairs and blankets and stay to watch our movie on the big screen at dusk, "The Greatest Showman" (PG). The cost is $5 per person or $20 per immediate family. Dinner and treats will be available for purchase.  Animal chases will begin promptly at 7:00! Merchandise vendor booths $30 . Altamont's Got Talent - Open Auditions


Will be held from 5-8 p.m. at the Park Amphitheater. Think you've got what it takes to be a superstar? Call Whitney Robb @ 724-8078 or Tara Evans @ 733-0484 for an audition application and info.  You must live in the Altamont area. The winners will go on to the Duchesne County Talent Show held on August 11th at 4:30 p.m. for a chance to win $1000.00.


Dodgeball Tournament


Will be held at 8 p.m. in the old AHS Gym.  Registration begins at 7:30. The cost is $50 per team. So round up a team of 5 for a good game of dodgeball. Contact Sicily Thacker @ 823-3406 for more information and come support AHS Student Body Officer's.

Tuesday - July 17th

Baby Show

Our "Patriotic" baby show begins at 10:00 a.m. and will be held at the Altamont High School commons area. Ages are newborn - 4. There is a registration fee of $5 per child.  Come support our Longhorn Days by contacting Jamie Winn @ 790-1927 for early  registration.


Please be there 15 minutes before your child's time.

Arts in the Park

Arts in the Park will be held in the Altamont Park @ 2 p.m. Kids come to the park for a Great Artist art project, it's FREE!  No sign up required. Contact Travis Spunaugle @ 801-669-3111 for more information.


Painting in the Park

Painting in the Park will be from 5-7:00 p.m.  Come to the park for a painting project with Trinity Jenkins.  Please call Trinity Jenkins @ 724-2248 for Pre-registration. There is a fee of $25 for Adults and $15 for Children. There will be different size canvas available.  Come support AHS Drama

Youth and Girls 3 v 3 Basketball 

Come support the AHS Girls Basketball Team at the 3 on 3 tournament.  Registration begins at 5:30 with a Captain's Meeting at 5:45. Tournament play should begin at 6. There is a maximum of 5 per team; Ages 1st grade and up! Early registration is $45 per team and ends July 16th. If you register at the door, registration is $60.  Contact Jenalee Moynier @ 650-5983 or jmoynier@dscd.org by July 16th to register early!

Pet Show

The Pet Show will begin at 10 a.m. and will be held at the Altamont Park.  There is a fee of $5.00 per entry.  Contact Gianna Taylor @ 702-504-4476  All proceeds go to the AHS Cheerleaders

Boys 3 v 3 Basketball Tournament

Come support the AHS Boy's Basketball Team at the 3 on 3 tournament. Registration begins at 6:00 p.m. in the old AHS Gym. Tournament play should begin at 6:30 p.m. There is a maximum of 4 guy's per team. NO SINGLES!!  The tournament will be for High School Age and up.  Early registration is $50 per team and ends July 18th @ 4:00 p.m. If you register at the door, registration is $60. Contact Coach Watson at ewatson@dcsd.org by July 18th to register early! Referees will be present at every game. Concessions will also be available.

Co-ed Volleyball Tournament

The Volleyball Tournament will begin at 5:00 p.m. on the AHS football field.  There is a fee of $90 per team if you preregistered by July 18th. Any registration on the day of the tournament will be $100 fee per team.  Pool play begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by tournament play.  Contact Whitney Wilkerson @ 650-7646 by July 18th for early registration.  Come support the AHS Volleyball Team.


Moon Lake FFA Scholarship Jackpot

Friday - July 20th

Children's Bike Race

Races will begin at 11:00, sign-ups at 10:30. There is a fee of $2 per rider to age 12. Come and enjoy the races.  There are great Prizes and a great opportunity to support the AHS Junior Class.  Contact Alyssa Abbott @ 823-3909 for more info.

Co-Ed Softball Tournament

If you are interested in playing in the softball tournament, you will need to meet at the field behind the elementary.  The Fun begins at 5:00 p.m.  This is Co-Ed two PITCH. There is a $200 fee per team. Games will be played on the elementary field and at the Altamont park. Rodeo

Saturday - July 21st

Park 2 Park 8.5 Mile Run

Registration will begin at 5:30 a.m. There is a fee of $25 per participant and the race will begin at 6:00 a.m.  The race will start at the Bluebell Park and go north for 2 miles, then turns to the west for 3 miles of rolling hills.  After 5 miles you will run up the hill to the Altamont cemetery and continue for 2 miles to the town of Altamont, where you go past the elementary school, cross main street and end up at the Altamont City Park. 5K Fun Run and 1 mile Kids Race

Registration goes from 6-6:45 a.m. Races begin at 7:00 a.m. 5K race starts at the Altamont Park and will run the outskirts of Altamont and back into town, finishing at the park.  The 1 mile kids race for kids up to age 10 is a 1 mile loop around the park area.  There is part of the run that is on graveled road.  1 mile kid's race for kids age 10 and under is a 1-mile loop around the park area.  There is a fee of $15 per participant. Immediate family members with 6 or more persons, the fee is $12 per person. Awards will be given to the top runners, walkers, strollers, wheel chair, hand cycles in both races. The first 100 participants will receive a T-Shirt.  Contact Tracy McKinnon with any questions @ 454-4549.   Come out and support AHS Track and Field and Cross Country Teams.


Pancake Breakfast


Breakfast begins at 8:00 a.m. join us for a big pancake breakfast at the Park! Cost is $5 a plate - 2 years and under eat free. Come support the AHS Longhorn Football.


Ranch Rodeo

Children's Musical Theater Performances

Free - Performances of Missoula Children's Theater's "Rock Bottom" will be held at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in the AHS Auditorium. Please park in from of AHS, not in the West Parking lot (it will be used for the parade line up). Thank you!


Parade on Main Street


Join us for our small town parade! The Flag Raising will begin promptly at 5:00 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial. The Parade line up and registration begins at 3:30 p.m. in the west parking lot of AHS, look for the registration canopy.  Parade Route begins at the west parking lot of AHS continuing on Main Street, turns around at Mitchells, returns to AHS Parking lot. No Entry FEE. Please remember to bring a copy of the parade announcement for your entry. Contact Yawna Lindsay @ 823-7807 if you have questions. Horseshoe Pitching


Horseshoe Pitching will begin at 6 p.m. following the Parade.  Contact Jace Gilbert @ 650-0699 or Nikki Gilbert @ 650-3522 with any questions.  There is a fee of $5 per team.  Great Prizes Available!

Vendor Booths


Vendor booths will be available following the Parade and during the Entertainment/Auction at the Community Park. There is a fee of $50 per booth with $25.00 refundable after clean-up. Contact Sandi Rust @ 823-4130.  There are a limited number of food vendor spaces available.


Bar-B-Que


There will be a Dutch-Oven Dinner at $10/plate after the Parade.  Come support the AHS Wrestlers. Other Concessions will be available.  


Free Show @ 6:30 "Dryer Highway"


Dryer Highway is made up of four siblings who are turning heads of country music lovers everywhere.  Between driving fiddle solos, heartfelt choruses, and sweet sibling harmonies, anyone listening to this group will find themselves in the middle of a musical experience that they won't want to end.  The four sibling harmonies sweeten up old favorites and new hits, and the group's original songs have a distinctly "real life" flavor. Tel, Tiann, Mady, and TayLynn Dyer have been making music together all their lives, and the thing they love most is letting other people be part of it.


Auction


The Auction will begin at 8:00 p.m. at the amphitheater. Contact Kim Layton @ 454-3369 or Kathy Fieldsted @ 823-1910 to donate items.  Come bid on our silent auction items, and live auction for bigger items.  Proceeds benefit future Longhorn Days Celebrations.


Fireworks


Following the Auction there will be a fabulous display of Fireworks.  Tentative, depending on state, county and city fire restrictions.


Dance


The dance will begin after the fireworks and go until 11:30. It will be held at the AHS football field, weather permitting.  Ages 14 and up are invited.  The cost is $3 per person and all proceeds go to help the AHS Cheerleaders.
